Aldergrove businesses eye new association

ABA has planned a discussion on the transition to a “Business Improvement Area”

Faced with major competition from nearby big box stores and major malls, the Aldergrove Business Association is considering bringing in heavier artillery.

The executive of the ABA has planned a discussion on the transition to a “Business Improvement Area” that would enable the members to approve spending money on bigger projects.

“With competition from nearby big box stores and major malls, many commercial vacancies, storefronts in need of renewal, and a lackluster downtown core, we need a better, stronger support structure. It’s time to enact a business improvement area,” says a release from the ABA.

“With significant new development in town the opportunity for Aldergrove businesses has never been greater.”

ABA members are invited to a discussion on the subject on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the ABA offices, 2941 - 272 St.
