Candles for Coleton
On Saturday night, more than 150 families and athletes from Aldergrove Minor Hockey Association came to the Aldergrove Community Arena to honour the one-year anniversary of 12-year-old Coleton Nelson’s tragic passing.
Coleton was a passenger in a car which crashed into another car at Robertson Crescent and 256 Street last February. Coleton had been a goalie with the AMHA.
“It was quite a sight to see so many young people and their parents gather at the rink at 11 p.m. with candles and balloons. After a moment of silence, balloons were released, bearing messages of love and remembrance for Coleton,” said Janice Nikkel.
“It was a privilege to see this community come around the Nelson family and remember the impact their son had made on the lives of so many in the Aldergrove community.”
