Gardening, safe food workshops coming to Aldergrove
Workshops on gardening and food preparation will be offered in Aldergrove in coming weeks.
Garden to Table (G2T) Program
The last of the two free gardening workshops series will be held at St. Dunstan's Church Hall, 3025-264 Street, in partnership with Langley Environmental Partners Society.
First up is Sat., Oct. 20, titled Backyard Bounty, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This workshop will guide you through decisions such as where to locate your vegetable patch, what to grow, and when to plant it.
On Sat., Oct. 27, attend Composting 101 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Learn what type of composting is a good fit for your needs and learn how you can do your part to reduce the amount of waste in our landfills.
St. Dunstans is also offering two Food Safe Level 1 courses, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 22 and Sat., Nov. 17. Cost is $60 for the full day. Have you ever needed the foodsafe certificate? Do you know anyone who would like to take it? It's great for teens or anyone looking for or working in the food industry, or just for those who want to volunteer. Don't miss out, call soon as there are only 10 spaces available for each class.
