The 2017 Aldergrove Agricultural Fair Raffle was a huge success, selling out all 500 tickets hours before the drawing of the winning tickets at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 16.
Wade Smith from Langley was the first prize winner of a gift certificate for $1,000 worth of lawn and garden equipment, once again generously donated by Bruce and Rita Heslop of Diamond Bar Equipment, Aldergrove.
Gary Skolus, of Aldergrove, had the good fortune of having two of his tickets drawn, making him the winner of both the second and third prizes. Third prize, donated by S+L Restaurant in Langley, was a tasting menu for 4-5 people, including beverage pairings valued at $450. The second prize – valued at $550 – was literally “Everything Aldergrove” consisting of: two nights’ accommodation at the Best Western Country Meadows, lunch for four at JD Farms Bistro, waffle breakfast for four at Krause Berry Farms, family passes to the Greater Vancouver Zoo, Twilight Drive In, Township of Langley Recreation Centres and Alder Alley Bowling. Also included in this prize was a wine tasting and tour package donated by Backyard Vineyards and a gift basket from McDonald’s Aldergrove.
Fourth prize of a $100 gift certificate from the Otter Coop and a $25 gift basket from McDonald’s Aldergrove was won by Betty Barnes of Aldergrove.
The Aldergrove Fair organizers would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the raffle and to the local merchants for their generous prize donations.
