A veritable who’s who of original and founding members of the Aldergrove Art Club turned up to celebrate its 40th anniversary at the Aldergrove OAP Hall

Now that Halloween is over can Christmas be far away? But let's enjoy the fall season for just a while longer, the beautiful coloured leaves along the streets of Aldergrove are a joy to see. And what about the pumpkin wall of over 500 pumpkins lit up at night over at All Seasons Nursery?

There are lots of dates to remember. Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Aldergrove Legion on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The sale at the Veterans and Seniors hall is on Nov. 26. The Christmas dinner for the Veterans and Seniors and Aldfergrove OAP is at the Legion on Dec. 5, a Monday, at 1 p.m. Flu shots will be administered at the OAP hall on Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon.

There have been some good crowds at the Veterans and Seniors dinners, especially last Wednesday. A new member had lunch and joined the club — she must have enjoyed the roast beef dinner yopped with Yorkshire pudding, oh so good.

Crib is being played at the OAP Hall on Mondays at 1 p.m. Come and join the fun as we need more players and crib is also played at the Veterans and Seniors club on Tuesdays and whist follows on Fridays and Mexican Train (dominoes) on Thursdays. Don't sit at home and mope, you'll feel better associating with other seniors enjoying the games such as billiards.

The OAP trip to the Renaissance to have lunch and use their board room for our meeting was enjoyable. Charlie Delves, past president of the AOPO, joined us but Charlie and Lois have since moved to Langley Lodge.

Come to our craft table at the United Church on Saturday, Dec. 3. The ladies are busily sewing, knitting and crocheting, so come and support them.

The partnership bridge on Friday evenings at the OAP Hall continues and last week's top scores were Don and Rosalind with 7000, Gisela and Dave with 5640 and Joanne and Jan with 5630.

Set your clock back on Sunday, Nov. 6. It will be Remembrance Sunday and the Legion will join us at the United Church.
