It was hot and sunny, a perfect day for a parade. The streets of Fort Langley were packed with people for Monday’s annual May Day event.

Traffic was congested for several hours and some people had to park outside the village and walk in.

The parade started on Church Street at 11 a.m. and headed for the Fort Langley Community Park following a winding route through the community.

The May Queens and the Royal Party were then piped in and there was May Pole dancing and live entertainment.

There were rides for the children, mini-golf, vendors, and food, including the Lions’ famous BBQ chicken.
