Art lovers will have the chance to see work by some of Langley’s emerging artists this fall when a popular exhibit returns to the Fort Gallery.

Open Studio, running Sept. 20 to Oct. 8, will feature pieces by seven artists who have participated in a mentorship program under the guidance of artist Betty Spackman.

On display will be work from Anita Bugden, June Burkholder, Karen Christensen, Trish Clark-Jennings, Wendy Jones, Yuri Grier and Rosemary Wallace.

The Open Studio program was launched to provide a nurturing environment for emerging artists. Individuals at all levels of skill can receive moral support, technical help and honest, professional critique.

Artists work with, and learn from, fellow emerging and professional artists in the community, building a network of creative individuals who can support each other and perhaps find opportunities for collaborative projects and exhibitions.

An opening reception will be held at the gallery, located at 9048 Glover Rd., on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The gallery’s regular hours are Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
