VIDEO: Star Wars droids visit Aldergrove zoo for ‘May the 4th’

R2-D2 and R5 surprised staff to celebrate the unique, unofficial holiday

Some special guests from the Star Wars universe were in Aldergrove this week, and it was caught on video.

As a surprise for staff at the Greater Vancouver Zoo, R2-D2 and his buddy R5 were given a tour of the local zoo to celebrate the unofficial holiday May the 4th.

“Thank you to R5 and R2-D2 for stopping by and helping surprise the staff at the GVZoo with this series that brings us all together,” said Joshua Banta, marketing supervisor.

The video, released by the zoo, follows the crafty droids as they explore the zoo grounds, take a ride on the train, and shop at the gift shop.

While there won’t be Star Wars merchandise at the zoo on the special day, guests can partake in some interactive activities on Sunday, May 5, related to ‘Cinco de Rhino,’ added Banta.

The Greater Vancouver Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 5048 264th St.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online at gvzoo.com.
