UPDATE: Just before 6 p.m. today, the Abbotsford Police Department was notified that William Pegola returned home and was in good health. Police thank all who assisted with the investigation.

Abbotsford Police are asking for the public's help in trying to locate a missing 76-year-old Langley man who has dementia.

Const. Ian MacDonald said William Pegola was last seen by his daughter yesterday afternoon. She was camping in the Cultus Lake area and met up with her dad at Yellow Barn Country Produce off Highway 1 near No. 3 Road in Abbotsford.

The two, who live together, parted ways at about 5 p.m., and Pegola headed west on Highway 1 toward their home in Langley.

A neighbour informed the woman that her dad hadn't returned home, and he was still not there when she arrived later. She contacted the Abbotsford Police Department at about 9 p.m. to report him missing.

Pegola is Caucasian, six feet tall, about 175 pounds with grey hair, blue eyes and glasses.

He was wearing black jeans, a black jacket and rubber boots. He was driving his red 1998 Honda Civic with licence plate 677 FXL.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Pegola or his vehicle should immediately contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
