Cyclist hurt in crash, goes directly to jail
On September 8 a Langley RCMP officer patrolling the Aldergrove area came across a man lying on the street.
Police say that further investigation and witness accounts indicate the male had been riding his bike south on the northbound side of the street ,carrying a garbage bag in one hand and a drink in the other.
The cyclist appeared to lose control as a semi truck executed a turn onto 56 Avenue from 264 Street. He was struck by the rear tire of the trailer and knocked off his bike.
The cyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non life threatening injuries, mostly broken bones.
Further police computer checks indicated the man was wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants out of Langley.
The 45 year old has been remanded and is now in the custody of Provincial Corrections.
