Worker airlifted after industrial accident
A worker at an Abbotsford brick manufacturing plant was airlifted to hospital Tuesday night after he was crushed between two pieces of machinery.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) was called to Mutual Materials at 2979 McCallum Rd. just after 4:30 p.m.
When they arrived, the production worker was no longer trapped, but was suffering from serious injuries.
AFRS crews assisted paramedics and set up a landing zone for the air ambulance.
The man was then medevaced to Royal Columbian Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
Mutual Materials manufactures and distributes masonry and hardscape products. The company operates 10 manufacturing facilities in B.C., Washington and Oregon.
