Power back on at three Aldergrove schools

Power has just been restored to three Aldergrove schools that started the school week without power Monday morning, forcing the facilities to close temporarily.

Aldergrove Community Secondary School will open for second block at 10:10 a.m., Betty Gilbert Middle School will open after recess at 10:10 a.m. and Shortreed Elementary will open after recess at 10:45 a.m.

As always, parents have the choice to keep their children at home, should they choose to. Conditions at these schools are safe and power has been restored. Students will be supervised and classes will proceed. No morning bus pick-ups are possible, buses will transport students home this afternoon.

Several school districts closed schools on Monday morning including Chilliwack and Mission due to the icy conditions and power outages.
