Idling vehicles waiting their turn at the Aldergrove-Lynden border crossing on Good Friday were backed up for more than five kilometres. The procession of Canadians headed to the U.S. for the Easter weekend extended as far as 28 Avenue, which meant waits of up to five hours or more.
Similar line-ups were reported at other border crossings, including Huntingdon-Sumas in Abbotsford.
