Fort Langley road to be named in memory of Brenda Alberts

Longtime gallery owner, volunteer and champion of Langley artists passed away in July following a short battle with cancer

A road in Fort Langley will be named in memory of Brenda Alberts

A section of roadway in Fort Langley will be renamed “Brenda Alberts Way” in memory of the late art gallery owner and community volunteer.

A portion of 96 Avenue between Billy Brown Road and Glover Road will be dedicated with commemorative street signs at each of the five intersections along that route.

Alberts, wife of former Township mayor Kurt Alberts, passed away in July after a short battle with cancer.

She had owned and operated the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery in Fort Langley for a number of years, and was known in the community as a champion for local artists and supporter of many local charitable events.

“Brenda was all about community and this dedication will serve as a reminder of all that she contributed,” said Mayor Jack Froese, during Monday evening’s council meeting.
