Remember this? Snow in Abbotsford in December.

Winter isn’t over yet, and the Lower Mainland may be seeing snow Friday morning.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather alert. It says to expect snowfall amounts in excess of 5 cm are possible in some areas from Friday afternoon into the evening, and turn to rain or mixed rain and snow on Saturday.

The warm front on Thursday will “be followed closely by a low pressure system which has the potential to bring heavier snow to the area Friday night into Saturday morning,” the alert says.

In the Fraser Valley, Saturday could include freezing rain.

A second storm is also forecast for Sunday which could bring more snow and rain to the region.
