Police raids on two drug houses, one in Langley and the other in Abbotsford, have shut down a multi-jurisdictional dial-a-dope ring, said Chilliwack RCMP.

The raids and arrests stem from the Chilliwack RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) investigation, initiated after police received reports in February 2015 of a dial-a-dope organization involved with the sale of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

“Evidence collected during the lengthy investigation led RCMP to addresses in Abbotsford and Langley,” said Cpl. Mike Rail, spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional detachment.

A  search warrant was executed on Nov. 2, at a residence in the 6900 block of 207 Street by Chilliwack CRU officers supported by Langley RCMP Drug Section. Five men were arrested and cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, approximately $12,000 cash, cellphones and a handgun were seized by police. The men were later released from custody.

Six days earlier, on Oct. 27, Chilliwack CRU officers executed a search warrant in the 34000 block of King Road in Abbotsford. Four men were arrested by police who seized cocaine, heroin, meth, cellphones and approximately $20,000 in cash from the residence. The men were later released from custody.

Police will be submitting all circumstances of the investigation in a report to federal Crown counsel for their assessment of Controlled Drug and Substance Act charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and Criminal Code charges for possession of property obtained by crime and weapons offences.

“The reduction of organized crime remains a RCMP priority and in this instance a sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional dial-a-dope ring has been disbanded by police, resulting in the removal of drugs and weapons from the streets of communities in the Fraser Valley,” said Rail.
