People who want to help the family of 12-year-old Langley crash victim Coleton Wayne Reid Nelson can make donations through TD Canada Trust, the Aldergrove Minor Hockey Association announced Wednesday.Money to help with funeral expenses, travel arrangements for relatives and other costs can be donated though TD branch 9035 to the "Nelson family account," number 6343224.The association also announced the annual peewee C tournament in December will be renamed the "Coleton Nelson Memorial" peewee tournament.Coleton played on three teams in the association.He died Friday, Feb. 18 when the Ford Mustang he was riding in was hit by a garbage truck at the intersection of 256 Street and Robertson Crescent.The driver of the car, Coleton's 18-year-old cousin from Calgary, suffered life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition.The other passenger, Coleton's 12-year-old best friend, suffered serious injuries but was expected to survive.A benefit game for the family was planned for the Aldergrove Arena next Wednesday, Mar. 2 but it was postponed.RCMP are still looking for witnesses who may have seen either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash.
