MCDONALD, Margaret May. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret May McDonald of Vernon on May 5, 2006; loved mother and grandmother. Margaret was born on Nov. 17, 1924 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She moved to Vancouver after WW2 and married Russell McDonald and lived and raised a family in Aldergrove, B.C. Later in life she moved to retire in Vernon. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Russell, 1977. She is survived by her son Ian McDonald, granddaughter Madison and grandson Kameron of Nanaimo; her daughter Ellen McDonald, and grandsons Cory and Keilen of Vernon; and brother Vernon Smith of Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends will be held at the family home in Vernon. A celebration of life service will held in Aldergrove on July 22. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Margaret's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.JDRF.ca).
