Rick passed away February 16th 2024, in Oceanside Care at Peace Arch Hospital after a valiant battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Rick was born August 30 1952 in Powell River B.C. At the age of 3 he moved with his family to Langley where he spent most of his life.
He attended Murrayville Elementary and later Langley Secondary. Rick had many jobs in his younger years- he caught chickens, haying in the summer months and in sawmills. Through friends he was able to apprentice in HVAC and eventually opened his own successful business R.K. Gasfitting.
Rick loved sports; as a youth he played baseball and soccer, a game he loved. He continued playing into his sixties, until injuries forced him to retire. Rick and his many friends often gathered at the shop to chat and have the odd cocktail or two.
Rick is survived by his devoted and loving partner Shirley.
He was predeceased by his former wife Vicky. Also surviving him are their sons Keegan (Kim), Roarke (Stephanie), daughter Keira (Andrew), and grandsons Jaxson, Luke, and Liam, sisters Sharon and Susan, and brother Dave (Linda) who were so helpful in his day to day care.
Celebration of life for Rick will be held March 22 2024, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Hendersons Funeral Home- 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley B.C.
