Thelma DYSON

January 19, 2009

DYSON: Thelma Dyson, a remarkably strong woman and a colourful character, passed away peacefully in the evening on Jan. 19th after a short and difficult battle with lung cancer. The family would like to thank the medical staff and volunteers at the Langley Hospice for the wonderful care she received.

Thelma was born in Winnipeg and moved out to Steveston in 1966. She moved to Aldergrove in 1993 with her son Shane, daughter-in-law Leslie, and her three grandsons Nicholas, Kerry and Toby. She was a woman with many skills and interests. She was a thoroughbred racehorse enthusiast, a cannery worker, a volunteer at the Peretz Centre and Century House, a quilter and an active dancer.

The family invites her friends and other family members to come celebrate her life on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Centennial Community Centre, 65 E. 6th Ave. New Westminster.
