Beautiful suggestions

Editor:

On the subject of "beautifying downtown Aldergrove" I have a couple more suggestions for business owners.

While I don't mind participating in Aldergrove clean up every year as a volunteer, it would help Aldergrove's "look" if business owners could swipe their portion of the sidewalk on a regular basis (like when people have thrown their garbage). In Europe, there are a number of countries where business owners do just that. It shows that they care and it is a nice invitation to enter their shop.

How much does a pot with geraniums (easy to care) cost? You only have to water on a regular basis and bring it inside in the evening, outside in the morning; it does not cost much, but certainly would send a message to shoppers.

And lastly, why are there no bylaws to force owners of vacant lots to clean up their properties?

Can anyone answer that?

Annie Richard, Aldergrove
