Too much asked

Editor:

Bob Robinson's excellent letter (Langley Times, Feb. 23 and Aldergrove Star, March 4) raises several good points, not the least of which is the fact that the municipal employees' wage increase of four per cent was much higher that the thousands of us retired B.C. government employees who received 1.7% this year and are having our retirement benefits reduced on an ongoing basis. We are still taxpayers and can no longer afford to keep falling further and further behind while our municipal taxes increase every year by some 4-5%.

When elections come this fall, I believe Mayor Green will have strong support for his stand against these increases and I just hope some likeminded citizens will stand up and run against the so-called "six-pack" whose time to be put out to pasture has arrived.
