Hawks slash Kodiaks
The Aldergrove Kodiaks came out strong from the start of their Jan. 25 home game but were unable to get more than one shot past the Delta Ice Hawks goalie, Alexander Ahnert.
The Hawks led 2-0 at the end of the first, 3-0 at the end of the second before Ryan Veillet put one up high to get past Ahnert.
However, the Hawks scored two more in the third to end the game 5-1.
The Hawks outshot the Kodiaks 54-39 that night, and the Hawks also took a total of penalties in all three periods, compared to one for the Kodiaks in the game. Veillet earned the game's third star.
The Kodiaks retain top spot in their division with 48 points after 34 games (23-9-1-1).
The team gets a week off before hosting North Delta Devils Feb. 1.
