Aldergrove Midget Bruins win game two, 3-2

It was Aldergrove's second game in the B.C. Hockey Midget Tier 2 Championships, hosted by Prince George at the Kin Centre.

It was a tough battle for the Aldergrove Midget Bruins in the third period but they came through in the end to defeat Mission, 3-2, Tuesday morning.

Aldergrove defeated Williams Lake 9-2 in the first game, Monday morning.

Game three for Aldergrove is on Wednesday, March 16, 3:30 p.m. versus Campbell River.

The semi and championship games begin Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Closing ceremonies are at 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Team captain Tanner Myer came through with his 50th goal, the game winner in the third period against Mission.

Aldergrove’s goals were one each period, with Logan Favel and Shelvey Hudson contributing the other two. The Mission team was scoreless until the third period when they netted a pair.

Assists came from Ryan Bencze, Brodie Buchner (2), Jake De Waal (2), and Favel.

Keeper Kallum Dierkhising turned aside 21 of Mission’s shots on his net.
