Two Aldergrove sisters are set to suit up for Canada later this month.

Sarah and Amy Potomak have been selected to play for Canada’s senior women’s national team.

Canada will play twice against the United States on Dec. 17 and 19 with the first game in Plymouth, Mich. and the second in Sarnia, Ont.

Sarah, who turns 19 on Dec. 19, is in her second season with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Seventeen-year-old Amy is in Grade 12 and has verbally committed to the Golden Gophers. She currently plays for the Pacific Steelers on the Junior Women’s Hockey League.

Amy will also play for Canada at the 2017 IIHF U18 world championships in the Czech Republic.

That tournament runs Jan. 7 to 15.
