Canada Winter Games: Shmyr medals again

Langley's Courtney Shmyr was all smiles after winning the bronze medal in the 1500m short track speed skating event on Sunday in Halifax. And she was even happier on Monday

Courtney Shmyr picked up her third medal of the Canada Winter Games on Thursday.

The short track speed skater won her second bronze of the competition, this time in the short track super 1,500m race.

It was held at the St. Margaret’s Centre in Halifax.

Shmyr was fifth after crossing the line in 2:31.970 in the primary final

The 18-year-old from Langley previously won gold in the 500m event on Monday and bronze in the 1,500m race.

In her fourth event, she placed fifth in the 1,000m race.

She will aim for her fourth medal of the Games in the 3,000m relay event.

Following the Winter Games, Shmyr is off to Italy where she will compete at the world junior short track speed skating championships.
