The Aldergrove Kodiaks took a 6-0 beating at the hands of the Grandview Steelers, Sunday at Burnaby Winter Club.

The Kodiaks outshot the Steelers 39-24 but just couldn't get the puck past keeper Cole McInnes that night, nor could they score on their three power plays.

The Steelers opened scoring on a power play in the first period, notched two more in the second and finished off with three more in the third.

The Kodiaks retain top spot in the Brittain conference with 37 points after 32 games (15-10-2-5), one point ahead of the Langley Knights, although the Kodiaks have a game in hand. The Abbotsford Pilots are close behind with 34 points after 31 games, while Mission Outlaws have 31 points after 32 games. Ridge Meadows Flames trail at 20 points after 32 games.

The Kodiaks host the Shaw conference leading Richmond Sockeyes, Wednesday, Jan. 7, 7:15 p.m. at Aldergrove Arena. The Sockeyes and North Vancouver Wolf Pack are tied at 52 points apiece. Grandview and Delta Ice Hawks follow in that division with 33 and 31 points, respectively.
