Sports boosters awarded

Aaron Walsh, coach of the Aldergrove Secondary School Senior Girls Volleyball team, has been recognized through Volleyball B.C. as Coach of the Year.

Gordie Clark has received a life-time soccer achievement award from the Fraser Valley Soccer Association. It is no easy task to receive an award like this and no one who wins them ever thinks that they will ever be recognized for their efforts because they are so immersed in their love of the game.

Saints season finally underway

Following Wednesday's rainout the Mid Valley Saints got their AAA season underway on Saturday at Hillcrest Park versus the Cloverdale Spurs. This young team played good ball and had it not been for a few errors could have won the game.

In the End Cloverdale had to bring in their closer to shut down the Saints in the sixth and prevail by an 8-4 score. Next game is Wednesday night at Delair Park.
