Two PBs for Metcalfe at Montreal meet

Up against country’s top swimmers, Langley’s Hillary Metcalfe captures four fourth-place finishes

Up against the top swimmers in the country, Hillary Metcalfe just missed the podium in four of her five events.

The Langley Olympians Swim Club member was competing at the Canadian summer nationals Aug. 4 to 7 in Montreal.

Metcalfe was fourth in the 200m breaststroke (2:32.92), 400m individual medley (4:53.66), the 100m breaststroke (1:10.67) and the 50m breaststroke (32.32).

She also finished with a pair of personal bests in the 50m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley when she swam a 2:18.54 in the heats of that event. Metcalfe wound up placing seventh in the finals.
