The Aldergrove Credit Union (ACU) annual general meeting brought together more than 100 members on May 3 to Bradner Hall.

At the meeting, a strong year of financial results were reported, a new board member was introduced and voting results from the special resolution were announced.

ACU reported a strong year of growth for 2016 with asset growth of 12.5 per cent from last year. This growth takes the credit union’s total assets under administration, including the financial planning division, to over $800 million.

ACU also shared nearly $1 million with their members through the new memberSHARE Loyalty Program, and invested over $180,000 in their communities through the community giving program.

New director Robert Van Belle and incumbents Eric Popma and Sylvia Allenby were elected by acclamation. Van Belle takes the seat of long-term director Angie McDougall who retired from serving on the board after 22 years.

Angie was recognized by board chair Eric Popma for her valuable leadership, and dedicated service to the board and our communities over the years.

“We are looking forward to having Robert join our dedicated board of directors,” says Aldergrove Credit Union CEO Gus K. Hartl.

“Robert has been a long term member of Aldergrove Credit Union, and brings a lot of experience and education in finance and economics with him.”

At the meeting, it was also announced that the special resolution, which outlined several changes to Aldergrove Credit Union Rules, was approved by the membership.
