Critical conversations explored at Chamber meeting

Chamber breakfast meeting being held Sept. 28

Space is still available for an upcoming Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast Club event.

Dealing with the Tough Stuff: How to deliver results from critical conversations will be the topic of discussion on Sept. 28.

The presentation will focus on not only surviving these tough conversations, but to thrive within them, leading to more productive performance discussions and substantially less conflict.

“Recent research shows feedback discussions are the least enjoyed management task second only to firing someone,” said Joe Roberts, the event’s co-presenter.

“So how do we get to this point? How has having a direct, real and necessary conversation with staff, clients or suppliers become so hard?

“In a nutshell, we have been shown processes without considering the human element in the discussion.”

The event is at the abc Country Restaurant (19219 56 Ave.) and costs $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The price includes breakfast.

Registration is at 6:45 a.m. and the presentation runs from 7 to 8 a.m.

To register, call 604-530-6656 or email events@langleychamber.com.
