The Langley District 4-H Awards Banquet was held Friday, Nov. 4 at the Ft. Langley Evangelical Church. Over 200 people were in attendance for the banquet and presentation of awards for the top Junior and Senior members of the 4-H Clubs in the Langley District.
Awards for the public speaking, demonstration, educational display and Speak & Show competitions that were held earlier in the year were also presented. Rosettes for top judges at the judging rally were also presented.
The B.C. Ministry of Agriculture and Food also presented Leader Tenure awards to Heather Gilliland, Kathy Hope, and Bente Beirnes for five years of service. A 20 year service award was presented to Al DeJong.
Top Juniors in the district:
Prairie Coast Equipment Award: Brandon Koch, of the Langley 4-H Beef & Swine club
Aldor Acres Award: Johnathan Macadam, of the Langley 4-H Beef & Swine club
Barichello Memorial Award: Tamara Marlikowski, of Woodlands 4-H Hare & Hound club
Alice McKay Memorial Award for top overall Junior member: Jeremiah Macadam, of the Langley 4-H Beef & Swine club
Top Seniors in the district:
Langley Centennial Award (presented by Langley City, & Langley Township): Sean Hope, of Langley Lamb & Woolcraft, and Fraser Valley Beef
BMO-Bank of Montreal Award: Sabrina Anderson, of Langley Lamb & Woolcraft, and Fraser Valley Beef
C.I.B.C. Award: Ashley Gilliland, of Langley Lamb & Woolcraft, and Fraser Valley Beef
B.C. Hydro Award to the top overall Senior Member: Heidi Wilson, of the Otter Llama Club
