The Lower Mainland 'Green Team' removed invasive English ivy from Aldergrove Regional Park on Sunday, March 3.

About 20 cubic metres of ivy were removed by 19 volunteers who contributed a total of 56 hours that day. Volunteers came from Langley, Surrey, Chilliwack, Vancouver, Abbotsford, Burnaby, Richmond and Coquitlam. Of these, eight volunteers had never been to Aldergrove Regional Park before and five volunteers had never removed English ivy before.

Thanks go to green team volunteers Catarina, Yimeng, Erez, Josh, Silvia, Shannon, Sara, Stephen, Jeff, Tatsiana, Diana, Kris, Dave, Kristen, Monique, Grace, Louise, and Kevin. It's worth noting that Josh rode his bicycle from Abbotsford to attend.

Silvia, Amy and Diana did a good job helping lead this event, and Metro Vancouver Parks East Area's Roy gave the participants a great background talk about Aldergrove Park.
