On Tuesday, Nov. 15, Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue came to Aldergrove to teach the Brownies and Sparks of the Ottergrove District how to stay safe if they get lost in the woods.
Thirty-five girls learned how to “Hug A Tree” and stay warm and safe while waiting for help to come.
They learned how to stay warm in a big orange bag, learned the international distress signal and had a look through the first responder vehicle.
They learned how, on a moment’s notice, these volunteers drop everything to go out and help rescue those who have become lost, trapped or injured.
