New, unwrapped toys are being accepted at a toy drive Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the London Drugs in Willowbrook.
In 2021, London Drugs recognized a need for drive-through toy drives. This led the retailer to collaborate with the Vancouver Firefighters to create its first drive-through toy drive, while other London Drugs locations supported in-store with toy collection bins.
The success of the first London Drugs toy drive led to the creation of an annual tradition.
The Langley toy drive at 20202 66 Ave. is one of several taking place at 19 London Drugs locations around Western Canada on that day. The toys collected stay in the community. For the Langley drive, the donations will go to the Langley Christmas Bureau. More information is at londondrugs.com/christmas-toy-drive.
The Canadian retailer is trying to help families struggling financially. Almost half (44 per cent) of people nationally feel worse off financially compared to last year, according to Food Banks Canada’s 2024 Poverty Report Cards, and one in four are experiencing food insecurity.
