The free community event is part of the sixth annual RBC Sports Day in Canada and is one of 2,000 events being held in communities across the country.

The day is designed to encourage families to try a new sport and to celebrate the power of sport and active living.

Some of the activities being offered on Saturday include broomball, martial arts and ice skating.

Skate and helmet rental will be free.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LEC (7888 200 St.) and the first 50 families will receive free hot chocolate.
