On Sunday, June 12, the sun was shining for the ‘sold out’ Garden Tour, a fundraiser for the 2016 Aldergrove Fair.

This year's Aldergrove Fair has a "Garden Party" theme, July 15-17.

Over 60 guests from parts of the Lower Mainland were treated to a full day tour on a coach to six fabulous private gardens in the Township of Langley. Each garden is unique in character and personality, and lunch was served al fresco midday at one of the gardens.

Two master gardeners were officially on duty to answer questions, although there were several master gardeners on the tour. There was much talk about growing conditions, "what’s that plant?" and Latin plant names.

Sincere thanks go to Pam Erikson, Marian Carson, Don and Shirley Siemens, Sharon and Bob Papp, Mike and Suzanne Robinson, and Art and Robin Bandenieks as these garden hosts made this tour not only possible, but went beyond the call of volunteering to make it so enjoyable and welcoming. It was a grand day promoting country living in Aldergrove.

Rave reviews from guests and requests to make the Aldergrove Fair Garden Tour an annual event were repeated throughout the day and noted on the post-tour surveys.

Guests also asked for visits to smaller gardens, hobby gardens, and Asian-style gardens next year.

Is your garden unique? If you would like your garden to be on the second annual Aldergrove Fair Garden Tour, in June of 2017, please contact organizers at info@aldergrovefair.ca.
