When her neighbour got scammed on a furnace installation, a Brookswood senior stepped up.
Gail (who did not want her last name used) contributed what was described by the anonymous neighbour as a "large sum" of money to have Langley's Gandy Installations fix the problem.
Early in October, a Gandy crew returned, this time to Gail's house, to install a new HVAC system, for free.
Her neighbour had nominated Gail for Feel The Love, an initiative of the Lennox company, which provides brand new high-efficiency furnaces to deserving nominees,
Participating dealers across the continent donate the installation materials and labour, all free of charge.
"Gail is a remarkable lady, a wise woman with a kind and generous spirit, who selflessly devoted her life to caring for her mother, her sister, and has supported the community with among other causes donating to the Langley hospital," the neighbour wrote.
"This is a true reflection of neighbours helping neighbours," commented Shannon Gandy, marketing manager at Gandy Installations.
"When we heard that Gail had opened her heart to her to her neighbour, helping her pay for her new install after she got ripped off by a previous HVAC company, we knew she was the right fit for Feel the Love," Gandy added.
Gandy Installations is a family-operated business started by Charlie Gandy and Ken Atwell in 1957.
