The weather couldn’t have been any more ideal for a fundraising group cycling trek.

Under a ceiling of clear blue sky, cyclists taking part in Ride for the Kids — a fully escorted 165 km bicycle trek from Langley to Sardis and back — left Langley Twin Rinks at 8:30 this morning (Wednesday, July 12) en route to Sardis.

Each year, Ride for the Kids raises funds and awareness for the Canucks for Kids Fund in support of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

Thanks to its supporters and sponsors, led by Bayview Towing and C&D Logistics, the rides have raised $674,000 to date.

Once the cyclists arrive back at Langley Twin Rinks at roughly 5 p.m., they’ll be greeted by supporters and a fundraising barbecue as well as a public skate from 5:15 t0 6:30 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Canuck For Kids Fund.
