The regular monthly meeting of the Seniors Network was held on June 27 in the Kinsmen Centre. Prior to the meeting a delicious pot luck lunch was enjoyed by all.
Our Strawberry Tea in honour of Seniors Week was a great success. Attendance was not quite as good as last year, due to the fact that there were several other events taking place the same day in our busy little town. Hopefully, we can all co-ordinate our efforts a bit better next year.
The entertainment by Greg Hampson was great. He played and sang lots of old songs that were familiar to seniors. and had them all tapping their feet. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch, including strawberry shortcake. All the plants on the tables were given away as door prizes.
For their generous donations we sincerely thank the following businesses for their continued support: Save-On Foods, Safeway, Extra Foods, Otter Co-op, All Seasons Nursery and Gibbs Nursery.
The main order of business at our June meeting was election of officers. The officers elected for the coming year were president Donna Kohlhaas, vice president Gwen Cross, secretary Elsie Beggs, kitchen convenor Nola Renney, sunshine convenor Geri McWilliams, and newsletter editor Pam Arnis.
Our next meeting will be on September 26. Hope to see you all there but in the meantime, have a great summer.
