Avid Fort Langley amateur photographer Wout Brouwer spotted some hair ice on the Houston Trail mid-month. Sometime nicknamed cotton candy ice, this is formed on wet, rotting wood when it is just below 0°C, by a fungus called Exidiopsis effusa.
