Tim Chapman took the challenge from Aldergrove Safeway co-workers and customers and dyed his blond ‘afro’ pink for the Breast Cancer cause.

Chapman was originally going to have his afro shaved but everyone egged him on to dye it pink first and then urged him to keep it in its full-length glory for a week.

It all paid off as Safeway exceeded their fundraising goal by several thousand dollars, for the $11,215 total.

Chapman, who graduated from Rick Hansen Secondary and is in his first year of humanities studies at UFV, has been getting a lot of ribbing for his hairdo but says it was all worth it.
