A fundraising walk will be held in Aldergrove for Katelynn Bartlett on Tuesday, June 24.

A fundraising walk will be held in Aldergrove for Katelynn Bartlett on Tuesday, June 24.

Community members and volunteers are hosting a walk for a deserving family in the Aldergrove community whose little girl has just been diagnosed with a very rare childhood cancer called Rabdomayosarcoma.

The event will take place on June 24 at the Aldergrove Secondary School. Participants will walk the perimeter of the Aldergrove Athletic Park from from the parking lot of the high school from 6 to 7 p.m.

Fees are $20 per adult and $5 per child, with 100 per cent of all money raised going to the Bartlett family, as both of the parents have had to go on Employment Insurance so they can be there for Katelynn and their other children.

Everyone who walks will get a coupon for a free meal at the Triple O's on the Go food truck, which will be on location and has donated the food and all the employees' time to make this a huge success.

Organizers will start registering people at 4:30 p.m., the walk will start at 6 p.m. and the event should be done by 9 p.m.

Please spread the word as supporters need lots of help for this dear family.

Organizers encourage everyone to make "get well Katie" posters, balloons, and to dress crazy if you want as we want to make her smile. They also encourage people to walk to this event as parking is limited.
