Paul Goldberg is executive director at the Langley Senior Resources Centre, 20605 51B Ave.

Volunteers are always welcome at Langley Senior Resources Society, an independent charitable organization that has been providing health, recreational, entertainment, and food services to seniors since 1982.

The LSRS has a staff of more than 40, and a volunteer force that numbers in excess of 250, providing a wide array of services from the Langley Senior Resources Centre at 20605 51B Ave., including a cafeteria.

Members of the society have a wide range of abilities, but also include those who are limited by physical, mental, or socio-economic barriers.

The LSRS provides services beyond the centre itself, with community outreach, an adult day program, and programs that allow at-home services to help seniors live outside of assisted living facilities.

The centre’s cafeteria serves the nutritional needs of seniors, and is also equipped to provide take-home meals, and can offer catering for outside events, such as weddings and parties.

Anyone with skills and abilities that may help the society provide for seniors in the community can apply to volunteer at http://lsrs.ca/become-a-volunteer/.

Appropriate volunteer training is part of the program.
