Weather has prompted cancellation of this year’s Aldergrove Fair Days garden tour.
Organizers confirmed the second annual tour – originally set for this Saturday and Sunday (June 17 and 18) – was called off.
“Due to a very late spring, our participating gardeners are not sure what has survived this year’s unusually harsh winter,” the organizers posted online.
“Sadly, the garden tour will not be taking place this summer.”

In the meantime, the fair is asking for help finding just the right candidates for this year’s community service award.
“Do you know someone deserving credit for their efforts to make Aldergrove a better place to live?” asked Darl Bracklow. “Please nominate them for the Hilda Reddick Community Service Award.”
This award recognizes an individual for their outstanding service without regard for their own personal gain.
The late Hilda Reddick lived in Aldergrove for only a few years, where she ran a small shoe store in the Aldergrove Mall.
“Her fierce dedication to so many organizations epitomized community spirit and service,” Bracklow said.
The award is presented during the opening ceremonies of the annual Aldergrove Fair.
Nominees must be 19 years or older and lives or works in Aldergrove. The deadline for nomination is July 10.
People can simply submit a letter before the deadline, detailing the nominee’s contributions to Aldergrove. It must be sent to:
