He might be Chilliwack’s youngest philanthropist yet.

Four-year-old Jackson dropped by the Murray Honda donation centre on Thursday with a special surprise for relief fund organizers. He had raised $63.80 to support evacuees of the B.C. wildfires. And he did the way all kids do best — by selling glass after glass of ice cold lemonade.

He apparently was so commited to the cause, that he refused to leave his roadside stand until every last drop was sold.

The staff at Murray Honda were beside themselves with his generosity, posting on Facebook that he has a “kind heart beyond his years.”

Murray has partnered with Chilliwack Restorative Justice & Youth Advocacy Association and BigSteelBox to be a collection point for donations in Chilliwack, coordinating with Emergency Social Services over at Chilliwack secondary to fill exact needs as they arise. They are also sending portions of the donations (cash, gift cards and neccessities) to the evacuation centre in Kamloops, and have already sent at least one truck there filled with items.

Young Jackson’s donation was a bright moment in a week that’s been full of bright moments, as donations come in from all walks of life in this community.

“It is moments like these that truly demonstrate the ability in us all to show compassion, empathy, leadership and love for all,” Chilliwack Restorative Justice’s Leanna Kemp said. “Just four years old…I am truly inspired to keep doing what we are doing if it helps to influence little guys like this to have these moments that they can be so proud of. Jackson, we are so grateful of your efforts and so proud of you. Thank you!”
