A regional society that helps Langley children is once again hosting its art auction.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society will be unveiling a wide selection of original artwork on Feb.10 in Reach Child and Youth Development Society’s Art for Autism fifth annual fundraiser.

The online auction features artwork from members of the South Delta Artist’s Guild, South Delta Artisans, North Delta Potters Guild, Delta Potters Association, White Rock Art Walk, Vancouver Art Gallery and S. Surrey & White Rock Art Society as well as renowned individual artists. The show runs until Feb. 26, and features paintings, sculptures, pottery, and one-of-a-kind wearables to raise funds for children with support needs at the non-profit. Visit www.artauctionforautism.com to bid.

For the first time this year, there will be an in-person art show displaying the artwork at Reach child development centre, 5050 47th Ave., in Ladner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb.14.

“Who knew the talent pool was so deep”, says REACH events coordinator Tamara Veitch. “Come and check it out for yourself because the quality of artwork is noteworthy: we send an enormous thank you to our artist donors!”.

Local artist and artisan donations have been making this annual fundraiser possible since 2020, and it has raised $32,575 for children. Rod Winning, with the South Delta Artist’s Guild, and Linda Edwards, on the Reach events committee, kicked off the fundraiser.

The society is a non-profit charitable society that has been providing services to children and their families since 1959. Reach currently provides programs and services to families in Delta, Surrey and Langley. More than 1,000 children and their families benefit from Reach services on an annual basis. For more information visit: www.reachdevelopment.org.
