Public invited to celebration that includes TransLink Reindeer Bus

Toys will be loaded onto Reindeer Bus for deliver to Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau

The TransLink Reindeer Bus will be in Langley Wednesday evening and when it departs, it will be filled with toys.

The public can see the bus and enjoy an evening of festive fun at the Toys for Tots wrap-up event on Dec. 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Langley.

"The church is once again partnering with TransLink for a Toys for Tots event," said Greg Gordichuk. "Our faith community in the Lower Mainland (Chilliwack to West Vancouver) has been collecting gifts for weeks now."

All those donations, as well as any that evening, will be loaded onto the Reindeer Bus for delivery to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau which distributes gifts to the various Christmas bureaus around the region, including Langley's.

Sparky the Elf will arrive in the bus at 6:30 p.m. at the Langley chapel, 20370 82 Ave. The event runs 6 to 8 p.m.

"This is a fun filled event for all featuring cookies, hot chocolate, music, lights and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  We have held this event for the past two years now and each time have attracted over 100 people.  We expect this one to be our biggest and best yet," Gordichuk said.
