Good point. As a retired paramedic, I can attest to the need for the removal of them not only for patients fast arrival at the ER, but their comfort as well. Imagine going over those bumps with a broken leg or other fractures/dislocation, etc. It's excruciating, no matter how slow you go!
Better to use those squeeze-style traffic slowers. An ambulance can bypass those quicker and with much less patient discomfort.
