The Fraser Valley Symphony is excited to open its first concert of the season on Sunday, Nov. 18 with “Movie Magic III” in celebration of its 35th anniversary.

Audience members and movie fans will appreciate the variety of selections performed at this concert, with something for all ages. Featured will be musical themes from past and present favorite motion pictures, including “E.T.,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Casablanca,” “Frozen,” “Batman”, and “Lord of the Rings”.

While the Fraser Valley Symphony usually performs pieces from the classical repertoire, the movie-themed “Pops” concerts have proven popular choices in the last several years and are always an audience hit.

Founded in 1984, the FVS is comprised of musicians from Abbotsford and surrounding communities and is the premier community orchestra of the Fraser Valley Region. Lindsay Mellor is the Conductor/Music Director.

Concert is at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 pm.

This concert will likely sell out, so audience members are encouraged to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are $ 20 adults, $ 15 seniors and students and $ 5 children (12 years and under). Tickets available at Kings Music, (Abbotsford), the pantry natural foods (Mission) and on-line through website www.fraservalleysymphony.org/. Tickets also sold at the door, if available.
